Artist Yoko Ono placed a full-page newspaper ad in Icelandic newspapers, wishing her former husband, musician John Lennon, a happy birthday. This evening she will illuminate the Imagine Peace Tower, located on Viðey island, off Reykjavík. The tall tower of light is a memorial to Lennon and will remain lit until 8th of December, the date of Lennon’s death.
The tower consists of a tall tower of light, projected from a stone monument engraved with the words “imagine peace” in 24 languages.
