WOW air has announced ambitious plans for an extensive route map in Asia, offering flights between North American destinations and Asia, with a stop-over in Iceland. In recent years the cross Atlantic stop-over flights have been the major driver of growth for WOW air.
WOW and the other Icelandic airline, Icelandair, have lacked aircraft with sufficient range to offer flights from Keflavík to Asian destinations. Last year, however, WOW purchased new Airbus A330neo wide body jetliners (sometimes called jumbo jets) which can fly to destinations in Asia. Skúli Mogensen, the owner and CEO of WOW air has previously said that Asia is a major future growth market for the airline.
The flight between Delhi and Keflavík will take 10.5 hours.
