The Icelandic low cost airline WOW air has announced that it will commence direct flights between Keflavík and Chicago this summer. Icelandair recently added Chicago to its list of destinations in North America. The service will begin on July 13, and will cost 18,999 ISK (173 USD), one-way, from Keflavík to Chicago, excluding fees and luggage and 21,499 ISK (197 USD) from Chicago to Keflavík.
WOW air currently flies to seven cities in the US, Los Angeles on the West Coast, Miami, New York, Washington D.C. and Boston on the East Coast and Pittsburgh in the North East. Chicago is the first Midwestern city serviced by WOW air.
Chicago will be the fourth US city served by both Icelandic airlines, Icelandair and WOW.
