Skúli Mogensen, the CEO and founder of WOW air told the National Broadcasting Service that the airline will be announcing new destinations in the coming days and weeks, while it will also be increasing the frequency of flights to its major hubs in the US. The airline recently announced it will be adding Orlando in Florida to its service in the summer of 2019, and that it will continue its flights to Tel Aviv. A new destination in North America will be announced next week.

The main reason the airline has abandoned the three Midwestern destinations is lack of demand, Skúli Mogensen told the local TV station Stöð 2. The future growth potential is greatest in flights to Asia, he added. Accordingly, the long-term strategy of the airline is to expand in India and other Asian markets. WOW air will commence direct flights between Keflavík and New Delhi in December. Skúli has previously said that the airline plans to add as many as 15 new Asian destinations in the coming years.
