Winter driving conditions today, Monday: Expect snow and ice on Ring Road 7385

The Icelandic Road and Coastal Authority warns drivers to expect winter conditions on roads all around Iceland today. Ice, icy spots and snow covers roads in all parts of the island.

Sleet and snow were reported in parts of North and South East Iceland at eight in the morning. 

The Meteorological Office expects the weather to worsen today, as the wind will pick up and snowfall increase. The winter storm is expected to start in the South-West (including the Capital Region) by noon, and then later in the rest of the country.

Drivers are warned to expect limited visibility due to snowfall and blowing snow.
