The whale watching company Gentle Giants has been charged with carrying too many passengers on the company’s rib boats.
According to Fréttablaðið newspaper, the Icelandic Coast Guard reported five incidents in July last year where Gentle Giants had set sail from Húsavík harbor with too many passenger on board.
The company’s lawyer claims the charges are largely based on a misunderstanding and insists Gentle Giants have not broken regulations.
