Summer seems to have abandoned Iceland, at least temporarily. The Icelandic Meteorological Office is forecasting windy and rainy conditions until the weekend at the least. Easterly wind, 8-13 m/s, accompanied by rain is expected today in most of the country. In the Westfjords, the wind could reach a northeasterly 10-18 m/s this afternoon.
Fairly strong easterly wind is forecast for the North Coast tomorrow, but gentler winds elsewhere, according to the National Broadcasting Service RÚV. Some rains are expected in the North and East of Iceland with temperatures ranging from 6 to 14 degrees centigrade.
Thursday is again expected to bring wind and rain, especially in South and Southeast Iceland. On the weekend, cloudy conditions with occasional showers are expected.
