Wet and windy in Southwest Iceland tonight 2016

You should get your rain (and wind) gear out. The Icelandic Met Office has issued a weather warning. Prepare for some serious wind if you are traveling in West Iceland today. It will also be very wet and windy around Iceland on Sunday and Monday.

Today's forecast Southeast 8 to 15 m/s (18-34mph), but 15 to 23 m/s (34-51mph) in the westernmost part, strongest in wind in northern Snæfellsnes peninsula. Dry in the northeast, elsewhere drizzle or some rain. Temperature 3 to 10 C (32-50 F). Near southeast gale and considerable rain tomorrow, mainly in the southeast. Becoming much lighter west wind with some snowshowers in the western part and cooling.

Sunday Increasing southeast wind, 18 to 25 m/s (40-56 mph) in the afternoon and sleet or rain, considerable precipitation in the south and west parts. Temperature 0 to 7 C (32-45 F), but light frost in the northern part until afternoon. Becoming west and southwest 20 to 30 m/s (45-67mph) by evening and night, first in the south. Cooling again with snowshowers.

Monday Southwest 18 to 25 m/s (40-56mph) in the morning, 13 to 20 m/s (29-45mph) after noon. Snowshowers, but clearing in the northeast and east parts. Cooling, temperature around freezing point (32 F) late afternoon.
