JL Holding ehf, a private company owned, among others, by twin brothers and former professional football players turned entrepreneurs, Arnar Gunnlaugsson and Bjarki Gunnlaugsson, has applied for permission to transform two floors in the JL building into a hostel, reports Vísir.is.
The JL building is located at Hringbraut, near the Grandi harbour area in Reykjavík, and the brothers view this as the ideal place for a modern and upscale hostel.
“This would be the perfect spot and building for a hostel. We want to bring life to this historic house,” explains Arnar.
The hostel will include single rooms and larger rooms with up to ten beds. The brothers hope to be able to accommodate 185 guests in total.
Arnar enjoyed spells at Leicester City, Stoke City and the Bolton Wanderers in the UK during his professional career while Bjarki played with Preston North End FC in the UK and with Icelandic teams KR and FH. The brothers also own and run Total Football, Iceland’s largest football management agency.
