The Icelandic Met Office has issued a weather warning for the southern regions and the central highlands tonight, Thursday. A strong easterly gale, with gusts of 23 m/s (51 mph), will trek over the south this evening. Some rain or sleet is expected.
Poor or hazardous travel conditions can be expected.
Winds will begin to subside tomorrow, Friday. The IMO predicts heavy rain showers in the southeast tomorrow and sleet in the north. Maximum temperature 6 degrees Celsius (43 Fahrenheit) in the south.
