Weather warning: Snowshowers and strong wind around Iceland today 2253

The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) has issued a warning to travellers. A strong gale, er more than 20 m/s (45 mph) is expected around Iceland today (Thursday).

Travellers should be extra careful while driving along mountains where gusts can get very strong.

This is IMO's prediction for next 24 hours:
North wind tonight, widely 10 to 15 m/s (22-34mph) and snowshowers, but fair in the south. Slowly increasing wind today, northwest 15 to 23 m/s (34-51mph) by evening, but 10 to 15 m/s  (22-34mph) in the westernmost part. Snow in the north, considerable in some places, but occational small snowshowers in the south. Frost 0 to 7 degrees C (32 to 45 F). Continued precipitation in the north tomorrow, but widely decreasing north wind at time.
