Gusts of more than 20 m/s (45 mph) are likely for a time near the Eyjafjöll mountain range, South Iceland.
Temperatures will continue to drop, especially in West Iceland.
According to the Road and Coastal Administration, Ring Road 1 across Fróðárheiði is closed due to weather. Icy patches are to be expected on Holtavörðuheiði heath, West Iceland.
