Weather warning: Met Office warns of gale force winds in the South and West 2520

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a strong gale warning for the South and West. Strong southeasterly winds will begin to pick up later tonight with persistent rain and snow showers.

The gale force winds are set to continue well into the weekend, so be prepared for poor travel conditions in the South and West over the next days.

Temperatures are also expected to drop to around -2 degrees Celsius (28 Fahrenheit), coldest inland and in the northeast.
