Weather warning: Massive rain in the southeast and east, very strong wind in the northwest 1934

The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) has issued a weather warning: Considerable rain is expected in the east of the Southeast part and Austfirðir fjords tonight. Water may increase in rivers and streams, and there is an increased risk of landslides. A strong gale or more than 20 m/s (45 mph) is expected in the northwest.

IMO's weather outlook for next 24 hours:
Northeast 18 to 23 m/s (40 to 51 mph) in the northwest, elsewhere 10 to 18. Widely rain. Somewhat lighter wind and less precipitation by afternoon. Temperature 4 to 12 degrees C (39 to 54 F), warmest in the south. East wind 8 to 15 m/s (18 to 34 mph) and rain in the south and east tomorrow, elsewhere mainly dry. Mild weather.
