The Icelandic Meteorological Office expects showers of snow or sleet and rain in most parts of Iceland today afternoon. Gentle to moderate breeze today, with temperatures around zero in the south and below freezing in the north.
By tomorrow wind speeds will pick up to a moderate to fresh breeze. The temperature will also rise to a few degrees above freezing. On Thursday the IMO is expecting a moderate to fresh breeze with snow showers, except in East and South East Iceland. Temperature will drop to just below freezing, except along the coast, where it will hover above . Northerly wind by evening and increasing wind with snow in North Iceland.

The IMO expects snow showers and sleet for the rest of the week. The wind will pick up on Friday, especially in East Iceland, but slow down again over the weekend. By Sunday the wind will have calmed down to a gentle breeze.
Travellers who are not used to Icelandic driving conditions are urged to show extra caution.
