Roads are widely extremely slick and police advise motorists to drive safely on the country’s roads due to ice and snowdrift – remember to drive more slowly and allow greater braking distance.
Brattabrekka road, west Iceland, is currently impassable and so is Þröskuldar in the Westfjords.
