A severe gale with sustained windspeeds in excess of 25 m/s (56 mph) is expected in the region. Individual wind gusts can easily reach hurricane force, topping 35 m/s (78 mph). The Icelandic Meteorological Office expects a southeasterly severe gale with windspeeds of 18-25 m/s (40-56 mph):
Travel disruption is expected and potentially damaging winds.
