The Institute of Earth Science at the National University just published an incredible video of the Holuhraun eruption on their Facebook page.
The video was filmed over the course of one week and shows geophysicist Magnús Tumi Guðmundsson and Ágúst Þór Gunnlaugsson shovelling scorching hot lava into a pot. They then pour cold water over the lava, and – well, just see what happens.
