The victory over the Netherlands was not only celebrated by hundreds of Icelandic football fans who had flown to Amsterdam to watch the game, or the thousands who watched it at a giant screen in downtown Reykjavík or at sports bars around town: The Icelandic men’s team also celebrated in their locker room after the victory.

As you can see from the video, posted on Facebook by best-selling author and former footballer Þorgrímur Þráinsson, the Icelandic team was just as overjoyed as the crowds at Ingólfstorg square – although the celebrations didn’t last as long into the night!
