The Rhode Island economic development agency is facing criticism over a promotional video intended to draw in tourists was discovered to contain a scene shot in Reykjavík. The video, which was released yesterday, Tuesday, features a skateboarder are actually shot in Reykjavík. The scene, which is early in the video, caught the eye of viewers who immediately recognized the Harpa Concert Hall in the background.
Social media users posted side-by-side photos of the very distinctively looking Harpa Concert Hall and screenshots from the video, demonstrating the footage was clearly shot in Iceland. Others made fun of the mistake.

According to the Guardian The Rhode Island Commerce Corporation initially tried to claim all footage was actually shot in Rhode Island, but later admitted the footage showing the skateboarder and Harpa Concert Hall was in fact shot in downtown Reykjavík, where Harpa is located. The error was due to a mix-up by the editing company involved in making the video, a spokesman for Rhode Island argued.
Since the mistake was discovered the video has been pulled and a new video made, with the footage from Reykjavík removed.
