The first baby of 2017 was born at the hospital in the town of Selfoss in South Iceland, three minutes past midnight a little boy was born to proud parents, Katrín Guðjónsdóttir and Egidijus Jankauskas. The baby boy will share a birthday with his mother, who was also born on January 1 in 1980, 37 years ago.
But the coincidence does not stop there, because Katrín was also the first baby born in that year! On January 1 1980, at 15 minutes past 2 in the morning Margrét Lilliendahl and Guðjón Gíslason had a little girl at in Reykjavík. Journalists visited the parents on January 3, when the photo below was taken.
