The Icelandic national football team will meet the Dutch team tonight in Amsterdam in the Netherlands in the qualifiers for the UEFA European Championship 2016. The game is important for both teams. The Dutch team must ensure it qualifies for the European Championship, something it has never failed to do. The Icelandic team, on the other hand, is eyeing its first real shot at securing a place at the final tournament.

The Icelandic team has so far won five of its six games, with three games yet to be played. Iceland has only once defeated the Netherlands since the countries first played against one another in 1973. The victory came in October last year, when Iceland won the Netherlands 2-0 on the Laugardalsvöllur Arena in Reykjavík.

The cell-phone company Nova will erect giant screen tonight at the Ingólfstorg square in downtown Reykjavík, where you can watch the game with hundreds of Icelanders. The party starts at 18:45, but you are encouraged to show up early to secure seats!

Below you can watch a trailer for the party, featuring footage from the party last year, when Nova first set up it‘s “Arena de Ingólfstorg”.
