Iceland’s unique landscape has made the country a popular spot for international artists to film music videos. Musicians like Justin Bieber, dance music legend David Guetta, and our very own Björk have all shot videos in Iceland. The most popular spot to film is undoubtedly Reynisfjara beach in South Iceland, with its black sands and unique surroundings.

The video, directed by Hiro Murai, was shot in South Iceland in 2012 and stars Icelandic model Eva Katrín Baldursdóttir as the ‘she wolf’.

Justin Bieber shot his latest music video during a short visit to Iceland in September. The video was shot in numerous locations along the south coast, including Seljalandsfoss and Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon.

Zara Larsson, a Swedish recording artist and songwriter, filmed the video for Never Forget You in Reykjavík, rugged lava fields, and in Reykjanes peninsula. The video features a young, Icelandic actress and a fairy-tale like creature reminiscent of those from the children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.

The popular Irish boyband filmed the video in 2009. At the time, band-member Mark Feehily said “I was listening to the song and it spontaneously came into my head that it would be nice to film it in front of ice.” And that’s what they did. The video features glaciers and snow galore and northern lights.

The Polish duo Ada Szulc and DJ Adamus filmed their music video in the harsh surroundings of Sólheimasandur on the south coast of Iceland. Filming took place in late December 2013, during the shortest days of the year.

Icelandic band SIgur Rós has created numerous videos in their home country; Glósóli being one of them. Again, the video features lava fields, geothermal areas, cliffs and other fantastic landscapes.
