The unlikely friendship between a two-year-old Labrador and a fox cub has been blossoming on the farm Mjóeyri in Eskifjörður, East Iceland, this summer, reports Vísir.
The motherless fox cub, named Níels, was brought to farmers Berglind Ingvarsdóttir and Sævar Guðjónsson at the start of summer and has been living on the farm since. According to Berglind, the Labrador, named Stella, was not too fond of the little guest to begin with.

“Stella was a bit jealous to start with but the two of them are the best of friends now. They roll around playing all day long,” Berglind explained.
This is not the first time Berglind and Sævar adopt a motherless fox cub. She says while the cubs do get fed, they are still wild animals that will return to nature come autumn. “As they grow, they’ll begin to explore their surroundings more frequently and, eventually, they’ll stop coming back to the farm.”
