The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) has issued a warning for South, Southeast Iceland, the Westfjords and the area around Breiðafjörður bay in West Iceland.
There will be strong wind and heavy rain in South and Southeast Iceland in the afternoon. Some very strong gusts, or 30-35 m/s (67-78 mph/108-126 km/h), are expected close to mountains along the south coast. Storm is expected in the Westfjords and Breiðafjörður bay in the evening and during the night.
We urge drivers of big vehicles and vehicles towing caravans to take extra care when travelling in those areas, preferably delaying their journeys until the wind has begun to decrease.
The forecast for the capital area is however quite good. It will be overcast but calm and dry until the evening when we can expect some rain.

Becoming Northeast 13-20 m/s (29-45 mph/47-72 km/h) and rain by late afternoon, heavy rain in Southeast Iceland. North severe gale in Norhtwest Iceland tonight. Temperature 5 to 13 C (41-55 F). Becoming South strong breeze or near gale tomorrow. Rain or rainshowers, but clearing in Northeast Iceland.
