The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) has issued a strong gale warning for the south coast in the afternoon (Monday) and in the Eastfjords tomorrow. The warning issued for the north-west is still in effect. According to IMO the wind in Northwest Iceland is now 15-23 m/s (54-83 kmh, 34-52 mph) and is accompanied by rain or sleet.
Lighter winds and clear in the east. In the afternoon it will be very windy along the south coast, or 15-23 m/s (54-83 kmh, 34-52 mph). By the evening the wind will be calmer, north-west 10-18 m/s (36-65 kmh, 22-40 mph), and snowshowers, windiest in the east, but partly clearing in the south. Temperatures 1 to 6 C (34 -43 F).
Tomorrow (Tuesday) IMO expects northwest storm in the Eastfjords, Northwest wind 13-25 m/s (47-90 kmh, 29-56 mph). Much lighter winds in the west. Snowshowes in many places, but mainly fair in the south and temperatures around 0 C (32 F).
