Recent rain washed away a fraction of Kaldbaksvík road, located in the Strandir region, on Saturday. The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration temporarily mended the road yesterday. Motorists are however, advised to show caution when driving the Kaldbaksvík road.

According to the National Broadcasting Service, a foreign couple drove into the section of the road that was missing, damaging their vehicle. The couple was given shelter in a nearby summer cottage.
