Volcanic pollution from the Holuhraun eruption expected in West Iceland today 1870

Today (Thursday) gas pollution from the Holuhraun eruption in the central highlands is expected west of the eruption site. According to the Icelandic Met Office's (IMO) interactive map air quality should be good in most populated areas today, except Borgarfjörður fjord and Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland where higher levels of sulfur dioxide are expected after noon.

IMO reports that tomorrow (Friday) the gas pollution is expected southwest and south of the eruption site.
