When Reykjavík woke up on Sunday morning people discovered that the night's snowstorm had created one of the greatest snow accumulation on record,and the single largest ever recorded in February. 51 cm (20 in) of snow had piled up over the previus day and night.

A local man, Jón Atli Magnússon, placed a video camera in his living room window, to capture the snow piling up.
