A new survey by the Icelandic Labour Force and published by Statistics Iceland, shows that the rate of unemployment was 4.2% in February this year, dropping from 6.1% in January.
As reported by mbl.is, approximately 4,000 people who were unemployed in January 2011 are now working or actively seeking employment. When compared to the first quarter of 2009, only months after the economic crash, unemployment rate has dropped by 3%, or down from 7.1% in the past five years.
