Due to the poor weather conditions yesterday, many roads all over the country were closed to traffic. Travelling between regions under these circumstances is not advised and can be dangerous.
According to Vísir two disorderly foreign travellers were left stranded in Norðurárdalur valley last night after having ignored a warning sign indicating road closure.

The two travellers contacted local police for help, but were told they’d have to wait until morning for snow removal to begin. Road maintenance and began at 6 am this morning and shortly after the two travellers were able to continue their travels.
