Police stopped a foreign traveller going nearly twice the alloowed speed limit on the highway between Reykjavík and Keflavík. The traveller told officers that he was in a huge hurry as he was late for a flight. He was fined 140,000 ISK (1,400 USD/1,140 EUR), which he paid on the spot. By paing the fine on the spot he got a 20,000 ISK (200 USD/160 EUR) discount.
