Kjalarvegur road, north-east of Hvítárvatn lake, is in poor condition and according to mbl.is, the Icelandic Roads Administration advises drivers to avoid the road at all costs as it is unsafe. A sudden creation of pot holes in Siglufjarðarvegur road, leading to and from the town of Siglufjörður in Northern Iceland, has been a problem as of late and passerby’s are encouraged to be especially careful.
In the Reykjavik area, road construction is underway and drivers as well as pedestrians are asked to follow detour signs where applicable. On Suðurlandsvegur road in Árbær, tarmac laying will cause the road to be closed from mid-afternoon until this evening.
Milling and tarmac laying on Hafnarfjarðarvegur road will cause the left lane to be closed until this afternoon. Again, pedestrians and drivers are asked to follow detour signs.
