A decrease in the exportation of marine and manufacturing products year-over-year caused the Icelandic balance of trade to shift from a 25,100 million ISK surplus through the first six months of 2013, to a 2,400 million ISK deficit through the first six months of 2014.
Values of the imported goods stayed relatively consistent year-over-year, however, there was a significant decrease in exported goods during the first 6 months of this year.
