A number of unions, including VA and Flóabandalagið, hope to reach an agreement today with SA, Business Iceland, and ending their ongoing wage disputes. Disputing parties have been sat at the bargaining table since 9am this morning, according to the National Broadcasting Service.
The proposed agreement will see the minimum wage increase by 3,400 ISK (23 Euros/25 US Dollars). An agreement will end weeks of tense negotiation talks between unions and Business Iceland and cancel scheduled strike actions.
Meanwhile, the government has not been willing to come to an agreement with striking members of BHM, the Association of Academics.
