A tourist who had been missing for the last few days was found in Hesteyrarfjörður in the Westfjörðs last night with considerable head injuries and an open bone fraction on his arm.
People who happened to be hiking in the area found the man; it appears most likely the man fell from a steep hill covered with ice. Rescue teams tended to him until a rescue helicopter arrived. However, because his belongings have not been recovered authorities have not been able to identify the man in question.
