Earlier this month musician Björk announced she will be cancelling several tour dates in the fall and early winter, including her scheduled appearance at Iceland Airwaves in November. She addressed the subject on her Facebook page on Saturday, explaining that singing the album had been an extremely intense and unique experience.

“Singing this album has been intense and the internal clock of it different to the other ones. It has sort of had to behave in its own little way. Both the urgency of the leak and now this sudden closure for reasons beyond my control is characteristic of that. I hope through the years I have earned enough tour-karma points to get your support for this,” she wrote. Adding that she had already begun to write new songs and felt that the most natural pathway was to let „this beast flow its natural course and start a new“.
Fans responded positively to the singer’s announcement, one saying that the Vulnicura album was so emotionally heavy it “would have been heroic to even think of touring it”, let alone actually doing it, while another wrote that this only proved that Björk’s music really is “magical and powerful”.
The singer has been touring since March and performed at the Wilderness music festival in England last weekend.
