Today (Wednesday) and tomorrow volcanic pollution from Holuhraun is expected north of the eruption site according to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO). The pollution will drift over area from Eyjafjörður fjord to the west to Langanes peninsula to the east.

The pollution could become relatively intense for a short period tomorrow night in Akureyri town and Húsavík town. Akureyri is 119 km (74 mi) from the eruption site and Húsavík is 133 km (82.6 mi) from the eruption.
