The popular Color Run has found its way to Iceland and the very first run is set to take place in June of next year, reports Vísir.is. Tickets on pre-sale sold out in only four days, leaving Davíð Lúther Sigurðarson, one of the organizers, rather flabbergasted.
“It seems as though tickets to the Color Run is the Christmas gift this year,” he says. Adding: “Many companies have bought tickets to give as a Christmas gift to their employees.”
The Color Run was founded in March of 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness and has been dubbed “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. Now the single largest event series in the United States, The Color Run has exploded since our debut event, and now takes place in over 30 countries world-wide.
The Color Run is a five-kilometre, un-timed race in which thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are splashed in different colours at each kilometre. The only two rules participants need to follow is to wear white at the starting line and to finish the run plastered in colour. The fun continues after the run with a Finish Festival full of music, dancing and, of course, colour throwing.
