Rescue teams in South Iceland were called to the assistance of four sea kayakers in trouble off the shore of Holtsós, near the Eyjafjöll mountain range in South Iceland, just before 5 pm yesterday, Sunday.
According to Fréttablaðið, when the Icelandic Coast Guard’s helicopter and three rescue divers arrived at the scene, one of the kayakers had managed to reach shore unassisted. His three companions were hoisted from the sea. The men were cold and shaken but unharmed.
