A memorial service for Birna Brjánsdóttir will take place in down town Reykjavík on Saturday. Nearly four thousand people have indicated they will attend at the Facebook page for the event. According to the local newspaper Morgunblaðið the Metropolitan Police is expecting as many as 15,000 people will attend. The disappearance and tragic death of Birna has gripped the Icelandic nation in a way no other event in recent history.
A memorial walk will take place down Laugavegur street, stop to lay flowers at Laugavegur 31, near the location where Birna was last seen on security cameras, and from there to Arnarhóll hill where people will light candles in the memory of Birna.
The group will gather at Hlemmur square at 16:00, and walk from there down Laugavegur street. The group is scheduled to be at Laugavegur 31 at 16:30.
Laugavegur and Lækjargata streets will be closed to cars during the duration of the walk.

Tuesday afternoon Police found what it believes is the red Kia Rio seen in security camera footage just seconds before she was last spotted on CCTV footage in down town Reykjavík. The car was likely driven by foreign nationals. The driver is seen behaving suspiciously shortly after Birna's cell phone is turned off at 5:50 AM.

Shoes which match those worn by Birna were found early Tuesday morning in Hafnafjörður, south of Reykjavík. Police does not rule out the shoes were planted at the scene. All available Police and Search and Rescue members are searching in and around Hafnafjörður harbour.
