Iceland‘s strongest man,Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, finished in 2nd place at the World‘s Strongest Man competition in Los Angeles this past weekend.
Known as Thor, Bjöornsson was half a point, and 0.44 seconds, away from becoming the World Strongest Man, as Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas took home the title.
Thor has gained instant fame as of late for his role as the Mountain Man in the popular TV series, Game of Thrones. The Icelander finished in 3rd place in 2012 and in 2nd place last year at the strongman competition. He stands at a staggering 2.05 Meters (6 Ft. 9 In.) and weighs 170 KG (375 Lbs.).
