This three minute short film is a beautiful ode to Iceland 5202

Belgian director and cinematographer Laurent Tixhon has just released this beautiful short film shot during his visit to Iceland last spring.

Tixhon travelled around the island late April and early May and captured some really outstanding footage. The 2.49 minute long film features some of Iceland's best know landmarks and destinations, Jökulsarlón glacial lagoon, Skógafoss waterfall, the DC 3 plane wreck that sits abandoned on the black sands of Sólheimasandur beach and more.

Tixhon told Iceland Insider that he was in Iceland for a fashion shot with a photographer and a model. But I wanted also to do something special for myself, he explained. So they became my actors for this short film.

The sound track is a poem, The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski, read by Tom O'Bedlam.  My idea was to choose a poem which can bring you some meditation, said Tixhon.

And it comes beautifully together, Bukowski's poem and Tixhon's visual art.

The delight in you from Laurent Tixhon on Vimeo.
