After the relentless chill and rain in northeast Iceland the forecast looks slightly more bearable for the area this weekend. According to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO) we can expect a drizzle or light rain in the northeast and east today but Saturday it will by mostly dry and the sun will even break through. Clear skies in the Westfjords, but partly cloudy elsewhere. Some afternoon showers are expected in the south on Saturday.
For the next 24 hours IMO expects northerly or variable wind, 3 to 8 m/s (11-29 km/h, 7-18 mph). Temperature 7 to 15 degrees C (45-59 F) during the day, warmest in the southwest.
