Police in Northeast Iceland says that the foreign tourist who died when he fell in Hljóðaklettar cliffs in Jökulsárgljúfur canyon on Friday was from Germany.
The man was in his thirties, according to local news site Vísir. Police believe he fell 15-20 meters (49-66 feet) off a cliff. Doctors pronounced him dead at the scene. His name has not been divulged.
A second tourist, a Polish woman in her forties, was also killed in a hiking accident in Kirkjufell mountain on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland on Friday.
She fell fifty meters in sheer cliffs in the southern slopes of the mountain. She had been travelling in Iceland with her husband and another couple.
