The total volume sale of beer sold by the State Alcohol and Tobacco Company of Iceland (ÁTVR) increased by 2.1% between years, reports the National Broadcasting Service.
Icelandic beer accounts for 70% of the beer sold and the Icelandic craft beer industry continues to grow rapidly. The Kaldi brewery in Árskógssandur in north Iceland, now produces 700 thousand litres of beer annually, yet is unable to keep up with the demand.
According to local restaurateurs, foreign guests also seem to be increasingly knowledgeable about local craft beer production.
