According to Statistics Iceland, the employment rate in Iceland increased by 1.8% since the same time last year. The unemployment rate during the second quarter of 2016 was 3.6% (4.1% among females and 3.2% among males).
The number of persons in the labour force in the second quarter of 2016 was 199,300 corresponding to an activity rate of 85%. The number of employed persons has increased by 5,600 since the second quarter of 2015. At the same time the number of unemployed persons decreased by 2,600.
