The plane, from Icelandic airline WOW, was unharmed and kept on as nothing had happened on its route to Paris.
In an interview with local news site Vísir Halldór said that he had hoped to get some footage of lightning and thunder but got lucky. The plane was a bonus, he explained and described the following noise as a huge explosion.
