Heavy rainfall is expected in the Strandir region, Westfjörds, which will ease this evening. It will remain cloudy but mostly dry in the south and southwest. Heavy rain showers will continue in the northern regions until tomorrow, Saturday, and is likely to cause possible river flooding, landslides, and mudflows.
Multiple landslides have been reported in the Strandir region, affecting road travel in Kjörvogshlíð, Trékyllisvík, Hvalvík, and Urðir. Siglufjarðarvegur in North Iceland is closed to traffic after three landslides occurred in the area yesterday evening.
