The IMO warns of a storm in the south and the Westfjords tomorrow, Wednesday 2465

The IMO has issued a severe weather warning for south Iceland and the Westfjords tomorrow, Wednesday. Strong easterly winds are expected to pick up in those areas by tomorrow afternoon and continue until Friday.

Gusts of 25 metres per second (56 mph/90 km per hour) are expected to affect the south and the Westfjords. The east will see some snow or sleet but it will stay mostly dry in western regions. Temperatures will remain above the zero mark.

Thursday: A brisk breeze will continue to affect the south and the Westfjords. Snow or sleet in the east and the south but dryer conditions in other regions. Temperatures will become colder.
